SSP's 2011 Show String
Here at SSP we have been breeding fewer ponies and showing at more dressage shows. 2011 looks to continue that trend. We have several goals lined up for us in the coming year, some of them pretty lofty, some not. We are striving to continue learning, growing, and most of all, enjoying our equine partners. Join us here to follow our fun, sometimes rocky, but always adventurous path!
Blazen
Blazen and I spent 2010 trying to improve our Grand Prix work and found that to do that we had to go back and change some basic work. We hope to show at Grand Prix this coming spring and see if our work has paid off, and attempt to earn my gold medal and qualify for the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals as well as the USDF Championships and the Southwest Dressage Championships.
Kaliedoscope
Kallie had an amazing 2010! It will be difficult to top her accomplishments last year. But if anyone can do it, this little mare can! We are working hard this winter to try to master the piaffe, passage tour, and the 1 tempes. Along the way we are improving our collection and strength and wow... what a power house!!! We hope to show at I2 by mid-summer or fall. Either way, this mare is so much fun to ride and has taught me so much more about riding than any horse yet.
Jazz Bourree'
We are hoping that Jazz will be joining the show string in 2011 for the first time since his younger days of in-hand showing. He will be debuting in 1st and 2nd level. I am excited to see how the judges like this very talented youngster as well as how Jazz adapts to the busy show life. Should be fun either way!
Nguba
"Goober"
Goober is a recent addition to our barn. He has some very big hoofsteps to fill as his daddy is the amazing many times I1 Champion Duelo. He is very green and will simply be traveling to some shows to hang out in the spring and then hopefully be showing by the end of summer, early fall. We may also show him a bit in-hand. It will be fun to watch this one grow into the fantastic athlete he promises to be.
